Bio

Randy has over 35 years of volleyball experience as a player, coach, college official, and club director/owner. In addition, he is a career educator with 30 years of experience as an elementary teacher, high school volleyball coach, elementary assistant principal and principal, and currently a central office administrator in Edmond.

It was his head coaching days at Edmond Memorial HS that opened the door to participating in many areas of volleyball such as coaching club ball and officiating college for over 20 years. In 2005, he was part of the original group who established OP2. He’s coached teams from 12’s – 18’s and began the boys’ team program in 2014. Randy coaches the 11-1 team for Peak and functions as the club’s director. Randy also began BYOP-Edmond (Bring Your Own Parent) in 2018 which provides instruction for 5-10 year old players and their parents.

In 2023, Randy’s 11-1 team won the Oklahoma Regional Volleyball Championships without losing a set, and represented Oklahoma as one of 48 teams nationally to compete at the USAV National Championships in Minneapolis, MN last summer. The 11-1’s finished 19th out of 48 of the best teams in the nation.

Randy has been married to his wife, Anne, for 32 years and they have five children; Kate and Brynden Pitzer, Sarah and Justin Ferguson, and Will. They have two grandchildren (Ruth and Jane) and are expecting their third grandchild in November, 2023.
